St. Tammany Candidate forum
It was an honor to appear before the St. Tammany Chamber Legislative Forum. We need proven conservative legislators, not untested transplants from New Orleans who have not been a St. Tammany voter for even one year.

Senate bill 7Protect the Innocence of Our Children in Public Libraries
John Raymond testified before the Louisiana House Committee on Education during this most recent legislative session in support of Senate Bill 7 authored by Senator Heather Cloud.
This bill requires that parental permission be given before any minor can check out items from the public library that are on the list of sexually explicit and graphic materials. It passed both the House and Senate. Our children are our greatest treasure. As a State Representative, John Raymond will always seek ways to protect the innocence of our children in schools and public libraries. |
Senate bill 63Protect Our Freedom to Assemble and Worship During Crisis
John Raymond joined Senator Beth Mizell during this legislative session to testify before the Senate Committee on Civil Law and Procedure in support of Senate Bill 63, which allows churches to receive a higher preferential treatment during government shutdowns of businesses. It passed both the House and the Senate.
Our freedom to worship and assemble peacefully is not an arbitrary privilege but it is a Constitutional right, and should always be protected to the greatest extent, especially in times of confusion and chaos. |
House bill 81Remove Transgender Pronouns from Classrooms
In this latest legislative session, John Raymond went to the State Capitol and addressed the Senate Committee on Education to support House Bill 81. This bill allows public school teachers to choose not to refer to students by their preferred transgender pronouns or call them names that reflect gender identities other than their birth gender. This bill passed both the House and the Senate but Gov. John Bel Edwards has resolved to veto it.
If John Raymond is elected as State Representative for District 104, he will remain vigilant against this wave of transgender confusion seeking to dominate our culture and confuse our children. |

Protect Business Owners from Transgender Lawsuits
We are in a battle for our culture by those who are aggressively pushing a radical woke transgender agenda. House Bill 40 sought to classify transgender applicants as a protected class during the hiring process by business owners. Employers could be sued if they refused to hire a transgender person to represent their company and their brand to their customers.
John Raymond stood firmly in opposition to this bill and was hammered by liberal members of the House Labor and Industrial Relations Committee. Fortunately, this bill failed to pass but the fight has just begun. As a State Representative, John Raymond will not allow such bills to slip into law and destroy our conservative Christian culture. |

Post "In God We Trust" in Classrooms
Our national motto, In God We Trust, has almost disappeared from our culture. It must be brought back into our society. House Bill 8 by Representative Dodie Horton was designed to bring that motto back. When this motto is displayed in every public-school classroom, it will send a message to the next generation that there is a God, there is a higher authority, and there is right and wrong.
John Raymond gave testimony before the Senate Education Committee to support this important piece of legislation, which eventually passed. Four small words, but enormous meaning. John Raymond will always strive to protect the hearts and minds of our children and guide future generations in the right direction. |
Offer an Elective Bible Class in High Schools
Over the past generations, the Bible has become lost and almost completely forgotten in our public square. We have taken the Bible out of schools and pretend to be surprised at the sharp increase in adolescent anger, teenage suicide, rebellion to authority, student violence, teen pregnancy, and gender confusion.
John Raymond was privileged to support Representative Valarie Hodges in bringing this bill to allow the Bible to be taught in public high schools as an elective from a historical and literature standpoint. John Raymond will always support legislation that strengthens the moral fabric of our society. |
house bill 86Protect Teachers from Lawsuits when Stopping Altercations
Schools should be a safe place for both teachers and students. In this overly litigious society, teachers are afraid to break up fights or even defend themselves against bullies. The Protect Teachers Act presented by Representative Valarie Hodges removes the threat of termination or litigation from teachers who are simply taking responsibility for their own safety and the safety of their students.
John Raymond will promote and support legislation that removes the chaos out of the classroom and creates a safe learning environment. |
house bill 466Remove Sexual Grooming Conversations from Schools
There is an epidemic of inappropriate sexual grooming and social engineering that is taking place in public schools. Representative Dodie Horton’s bill drew a line in the sand with regards to what teachers are allowed to discuss with our children in classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds.
As the founder of a Christian school, John Raymond knows how important it is to restrict school conversations to academic education rather than indoctrination. John’s testimony was offered by Chris Alexander, the president of Louisiana Citizens Advocacy Group. John Raymond will continually support legislation that will protect students from sexual grooming and the aggressive trans-agenda. |

When someone needed to take one for the team, John Raymond stepped up to be the plaintiff in a historic lawsuit to challenge the parish for putting forth a referendum that violated the Louisiana Constitution. Eventually, the case was dropped because of the overwhelming victory at the polls. The lawsuit served its purpose by ramping up the media attention and alerting voters that something was wrong with this entire project.

After an epic battle that lasted the better part of a year, the people of St. Tammany won a resounding victory to protect our community from the casino culture. It was a night of celebration after a two-to-one vote. Hundreds of business owners and community leaders joined forces and took on the casino industry in true David vs. Goliath fashion.
As a legislator, John Raymond will never pull a fast one by pushing a project on our residents without the proper due diligence and community approval. |
bi-partisan casino commercial
In one of the biggest issues in St. Tammany for the past two decades, John Raymond helped to facilitate a bi-partisan commercial with members of both the RPEC and the DPEC to oppose the casino referendum including a special guest, Lt. Governor Billy Nungesser.
